ELLENSBURG—Herbert Bird lives quietly in Ellensburg at the Hearthstone Cottage assisted living facility off Mountain View Avenue.
Affixed to the hallway door of his apartment is a single, small and shining gold musical note.
Bird, 98, retired in 1978 after 31 years teaching music and violin performance at Central Washington University. He’s now a professor emeritus. (READ FULL STORY…)
