Greg Sparling said the Central Washington University basketball team camp started about 15 years ago with seven teams.
This weekend, 28 high schools — 62 teams in all — are scattered about Nicholson Pavilion, as well as the Student Union and Recreation Center. As early as 8:30 a.m. and as late as 9 or 10 p.m., eight basketball courts are filled with high school players trying to improve their skills and jell with their teams, basically by playing as much basketball as possible each day.
