New Jones exhibit a departure | The Weekly Herald

Paintings by Mountlake Terrace artist Roger L. Jones are now on exhibit at the city’s library.

In a departure from realistic landscape and animal paintings, Jones’ current work reflects a nature-based search for a satisfying visual order, a balancing of abstraction and an emotional feeling of rightness.

Born in Ellensburg, Jones received an education degree at Central Washington University in 1964 and his master’s of fine arts in painting at the University of Washington in 1972. He taught art classes in the Edmonds School District from 1964 through 1967. (READ MORE…)
