Marty Loesch, former attorney and inter-governmental affairs director for the Swinomish Indian Tribal Community in Olympia, Washington, has been named chief of staff of Gov. Chris Gregoire’s office.
Gregoire appointed Loesch effective July 18. Loesch succeeds Jay Manning, who resigned in June. Loesch previously served as Gregoire’s director of external affairs and senior counsel.
Gregoire said Loesch’s strong legal and policy background make him a “natural fit” for chief of staff. “Marty’s skills and wealth of knowledge about the state will be assets as we work to bring people and organizations together to create jobs,” Gregoire said in a press release. “We have an aggressive agenda for the next 18 months. I’m glad to have Marty by my side as we work through these unprecedented times.” (READ MORE…)
